Update to Ok but Why

Sooooo a lot has changed…

Mainly… NEW WEBSITE! I’m getting rid of the old site because honestly, I wasn’t using it because my life had pivoted away from art for a bit. I was still created just not abstract paintings as much. Also, I wanted to have everything under Lost because it feels more honest with myself and more correct. It also feels safer for me to have everything under this new name. I plan on adding all my art on here eventually because I want this to literally be my homepage for everything me. However, that’s gonna take some time and there is no rush. I am very excited to share with everyone all that I have done with my life.

I’m really really happy I made that site. I think it showed me that I could transform myself from the person that I thought I was into anything I wanted. If I want to focus on 1000 different things I can do that and it's okay to let my ADHD take over sometimes and just learn something new! For the first time in my life, I’m accepting that all the little bits and pieces of me all combine to make up me as I am and honestly it feels really great!

Now the big question is, did I finish the pieces? Some yes! Some not yet.

Posh Bitch

Yup! I really really love how it turned out! It hangs above my desk!

Description

An acrylic painting that is mixing kinetic sand, heavy body acrylic gel, paint, and other gel mediums. The idea behind this stems from watching a few specific makeup gurus. The sand is their true personality, grainy, and muddy. The gel’s represent their personality on video. The blue line is them getting canceled over the last few years and how they never really fully recover from it.

100 layers

Ummm no. This one is still sitting in the closet (AND it's HUGE SO IT TAKES UP SO MUCH SPACE!) but that’s ok. I think I will finish it one day but most likely when I get a bigger space to paint in.

Daddy

Yup! This one is less enjoyable and more contemplating. I don’t love all the texture on it and some of the dots I did but I don’t think it turned out bad. I have it in my bedroom and look at it more than any other piece. It’s interesting but did show me a lot about myself and my art style.

Description

COVID brought a weird change for me (one of many honestly). It brought out more open communication with my partner when it comes to sex. Daddy is me exploring that a bit in an art form. It’s got a booty! It’s got the lines that I like in my pieces for structure and it has got some silver spikes for fun! It honestly didn’t turn out how I thought it would but it’s really interesting because of it. It makes me think and makes me wonder how it really reflects my sexual energies.

Untitled

This one is also in progress. I need to buy some paint stripper because I like what I did under it but then I covered it and still need to peel back some of the layers. It’s good but not done.

What’s next on the art journey?

Good question! Mostly stream graphics and world-building for a while. I don’t have too much free space in my apartment to paint right now and that’s ok. I’m not feeling the urge to pull out the canvas because I’m finding an outlet in other places. I’m solidly good with that.

Love,

Lost
