Golden Acrylic’s on Triple Primed Cotton Canvas
An acrylic painting that is mixing kinetic sand, heavy body acrylic gel, paint, and other gel mediums. The idea behind this stems from watching a few specific makeup gurus. The sand is their true personality, grainy, and muddy. The gels represent their personality on video. The blue line is them getting canceled over the last few years and how they never really fully recover from it.

The colors came about from the pallets I use for most of my streaming graphics. It felt really energizing well I painted it. Really pulled out a lot of the thoughts I have been having with art and the struggle I’ve had this last year with finding my own personal way of understanding my expression. Another piece I worked on over the last year. This piece was started mid 2020. It explores my adventures in the bedroom through 2020 and how that changed. However, like all pieces of content of any sexual nature it has already been demonetized. Sadly this is the way of our country right now and because of this it means that a lot of people get hurt and put themselves in dangerous situations with drugs and dangerous people in order to experience sex in different ways. If you opened up about it more we could protect people from these dangers and create safer spaces for everyone to explore their own desires.

I mean it sure did seem to be starting out that way! This painting was an attempt at distressing right as COVID-19 was starting to pick up. I had just been told that I was going to be working from home for the entire month of April. My boyfriend had been put on leave from his hotel and was applying for work attached unemployment and things were a bit crazy. This piece took some of that on with the heavy body, smooth, and tar gels that I played with. The blue line is me trying to find some sort of order in it all, some structure, yet even that is broken by minor flaws.

This piece came along well my partner was doing a piece as well! We decided to have an art night and this piece was my contribution to the two. His piece took on a much darker tone and the two pair well together and really show off our different personalities and what we value in art and its creation!

Depression sucks! This may be the first piece that I ever felt the need to destroy. It came to be when I was feeling really low. a mix of seasonal and general depression that took me out for a bit. Depression isn’t a joke, it doesn’t help creativity and it is really difficult on the person it’s affecting as well as those around that person. For me, I am lucky to have a ton of family and friends that I can go to for help and an amazing boyfriend who gets it. But if for some reason you don’t feel you have that, reach out. Figurative work is one area that falls into my art now and then. I really appreciate the male body so expect to see it now and again. This piece was inspired by two different pieces I saw. One of two men holding each other and another of only a man’s outline. These combined in my mind to find this piece. It’s an expression of love and shows one of those important moments where simply your partner’s touch can change your life.

Do you like structure in your life? Do you organize and categorize everything? Or are you more of a free spirit? Seeping Logic showcases my thoughts on these ideas. The off cream squares represent logic and structure in every day life. The green represents the unplanned that seeps into that even if you spend all day planning out your days. To have any sort of harmony in your life you need to learn to work with both. Realizing that no matter how much structure you put into your life, the unplanned will always find a way in, but that structure can direct it for a while to help ensure that your stress is somewhat managed.

Need I say more? This piece was finished after coming back from a vacation to Mexico. It was the combination of school, work, and an internship that drove me to be friggen stressed out. To deal with that, I painted. This piece is the result of me seeing my stress building and needing to very literally splash it out on a canvas.

Started off as a more Rembrandt-inspired piece. I saw a lot of Rembrandt’s work doing my Art History III class and wanted to replicate his work a bit with the darker-toned backgrounds and warmer colors. It, however, also took a bit of an interesting turn. I found that I loved working at the larger size to allow myself more freedom in my arm movements. Then I also wanted to play with a few more painting techniques so played with stamping and drizzling in the piece as well. It turned out so cool!

This piece was amazing to do! On this piece I only used a ton of heavy body acrylic paint. I started with a primary base layer then added more paint on top. The stripes are from me scrapping away the layers to expose the paint underneath. The yellow and red play so nicely against the dark greens and I just love the energy this piece produces.

This piece may be my favorite piece I have ever done. This piece really transforms depending on the light that is on it. The color underneath include purples, pinks blues, and greens. This started out inspired by Genji from Overwatch but transformed into something else entirely.

These pieces where a ton of fun to do. The first piece is true to color, the two color study and the third were unnatural colors. I love the middle one for it’s beauty but the colors of the 3rd piece are so wild that I love it and it has really driven my experimentation with colors.
Combating the Problem

LGBTQA+ life is difficult at times. Your life is a battle fairly regularly. This piece was a piece about combating the dullness that is the conservative mindset. Let the color in, let the glitz in, let life in! Don’t get stuck repeating the same life over and over or you will get swept away in the anger of others. Dullness bring boredom.

Know your status, know the facts and stop cutting funds! It’s not difficult but yet there is so much stigma around AIDs. Knowing your status is important and talking about it with others is easy. Just do it. Don’t be afraid because if you are it will only hurt you and others in the long run. Also FUCK TRUMP for cutting funding to AIDs research then trying to claim that he was the reason the research found some additional options!

Don’t be fooled by a cute face, those cute boys can fight back hard! This piece was created thinking of my partner. He is adorable in every way but he can pull out a stash of blades to cut you in a second. Cute but deadly for sure! Still adorable though uwu!
