Old Blog Post - Branding a Stream

GAMERS WELCOME!
Oof. October was intense… but now that that is over I would like to show off some of the stuff I have been working on! This last month I’ve been focused on getting my twitch stream set up a bit more to match my current style. The previous overlay for my stream was an overlay I purchased from Streamlabs. It was rainbow and grays, fit well with but wasn’t really the vibe I wanted to give off on my streams. I wanted to give a more relaxed and comfortable yet classy feel. So I set about changing up my overlays and creating a new look for myself on Twitch. Here are some of the results and steps I took!
The Color Pallet
I’ve been working on adjusting my personal color pallet for some time. The selection to the left are the majority of colors that I came up with to match my vibe that I’m looking for. They were inspired by a mix of a few inspirations -
Soft Boy Aesthetic - comfy casual style with a focus on cute things. I knew I wanted to pull in some pinks and blue to really soften the look.
Paris (the cliché version) - Think rod iron balconies, heavy trim, old lanterns, and high end fashion. I debated on this for months but I felt that that style. The blend of classical architecture and details with a little Art Nouveau vibes fit me more then just cute or edgy styling. Classic but still soft, like a cashmere scarf.
The Logo
Always important, the logo was needed. I thought about doing an emote or image for profile image on Twitch but it wouldn’t really fit the vibe. Instead I went with building a really simple logo. I used the color that I had selected and went with a multi color option as the primary logo with two different color options for light and dark backgrounds that I could use throughout. It’s simple, classy, and I love it!
Starting Now, Be Right Back, and Ending
These ones may change some more as I’m still learning how to work After Effects more. A few YouTube tutorials later and I was able to create a couple fun yet simple graphics to have as my transitions screens for my stream. I pulled in several colors that I was loving and used a background with some gradients and dots to give it some energy without going too “Streamer” style.
Other Graphics
That cover’s the big stuff for the stream. To make sure everything else matched in style and “vibe” I created a few channel graphics. These include the video banner, the panel names, and channel banners.
Emotes!
Who could forget about emotes! I’m not a large enough streamer yet to have emotes on my channel but I wanted to create some for my discord and to have them ready! I went for an adorable panda as my main emote style! This resulted in my having to dig into some really rusty skills with illustrator but with a little help from the Adobe lessons on their site I was able to pull it off fairly well I think! I’m hoping to keep practicing on them to clean them up a little more, but hey can’t learn until you practice! Anyways, check out these cuties!

That covers the majority of what I did for my stream! Come hang out on the stream with me. I play mostly chill video games but now and then I’ll throw in an intense one to mix it up!
